Forum, the European event dedicated to
the world of machine to machine communication. Energy is 2012 topic.
The event will once again be the reference point for meeting and debate with international experts on the world of M2M/IoT: main topics will be the present and future scenarios of M2M/IoT, the dynamism, the rapidity of changes and all the latest news on the sector.
The 2011 M2M Forum held in Milan gathered a business community of more than 600 visitors, with an exposition area of 29 sponsors and exhibitors coming from Italy and abroad. The important results of last year and the increasing interest in the M2M communication raise the expectations for the upcoming 11th edition.
THE EVENT
Since 2002, M2M Forum is the leading Italian tradeshow dedicated to the world of communication between machines that accelerates the development dynamics of the machine-to-machine world and brings together high profile Italian and foreign professionals, in order to analyse the drastic changes in technology and business. The synergy between Telecommunication and Energy finds new strenght in M2M world. The increase of wireless technologies’ use and the evolution of the machine to machine’s modules reinforce and favour the meeting between the industrial automation world and the mobile economy’s one. The M2M Forum as always includes C-level partecipants and is quickly becoming the main showcase of machine to machine solutions for the economic recovery and sustainable development of Italy. This is an event highly focused on M2M solutions for vertical sectors such as: energy management, remote control and remote management of plants, automotive, safety and smart city. With the most comprehensive Conference Program, the event features important international case histories and prestigious institutional speeches. A selected audience of managers from user companies, Public Utilities , Public Administration and carriers is always present. The participation to M2M Forum 2011 is free after registration and reserved to industry's professionals.

FOCUS 2012 M2M 2012 agenda is structured in order to be an International
plenary session of wide cultural breath characterized trough technical and
marketing oriented workshop and the contribution of the principal market
leaders, experts and analyst beside primary national and international institutions.
Core topic of 2012 edition is:

M2M for Smart Grid: Smart Metering will be the topic discussed in the dedicated
parallel session. Italy is the leader in the future application of Smart Grids
for the introduction and use of an Electronic Meter for electricity and gas in
Europe. Particular attention will be turned on remote distance
control systems and tele management of green plants for energetic and
distributive micro/cogeneration (included electric car recharging). The purpose
of this event is to provide an overview of all the available M2M solution to
those who are called to manage production and distribution of energy from
alternative sources and more generally reduce energy costs. This topic will be discussed by Alberto Biancardi, Commissioner of Authority for the Electric Energy and Gas and other authorities in the world of telecommunication and energy.

THE ETSI M2M STANDARD AD ITS GLOBALIZATION IN ONEM2M Amsterdam room h 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Enrico Scarrone, Chairman ETSI TC M2M ETSI has released a multiservice layer enabling an easier and efficient access to the telecommunication network functionalities, designed to support a wide range of services over different underlying networks. The presentation provides an overview of the architectural principles and the most relevant functionalities, moving to its globalization in the telecommunication community, by means of a global Partnership Project (oneM2M) leveraging on the successful experience of 3GPP, that has so strongly supported the developments of the third and fourth generation of the cellular networks.
